A few days ago I had the pleasure of being visited by angels. Now I realize that in saying this I have quite possibly brought my sanity into question. I can imagine the visitations I'm referring to isn't exactly what you're probably imagining happened to me. You see, these angels seem to have been on a group date. No I'm not being metaphorical or even that sarcastic. I want you to understand that when I talk about angels, I'm not necessarily referring to your stereotypical idea of an angel. In all honesty, the closest I have ever been to what would call heavenly visitations are what I would call strong feelings or conviction of the heart. I look at the term "angel" in a broader sense, the sense of a "heavenly messenger." Messengers sent heavenly from don't what have to be the spirit beings we normally think of. God's message can be just as easily carried by man as by a heavenly being. In my case, the messenger's from heaven were four college students. I had no idea who they were, and the help they gave would probably be considered trivial. One of them picked up the vacuum I had left running, and others picked chairs I'd clumsily knocked over with an extension cord. These simple acts of service turned a rather mediocre day into a miraculous one. Those simple kindnesses brought a smile to my face, and reminded me of the great blessings a loving God has bestowed upon me. At that moment I had needed help, not necessarily the help with the vacuum, but a reminder of the love of God. It also restored my faith in humanity. I am convinced that these people were "angels", messengers from Heaven sent to remind me of God's goodness and teach me the importance of helping others. Their genuine kindness reminds me of the kindness of so many others, especially lately as I have had at times felt alone . I especially want to thank those I call my friends who despite their busy lives look after me. Even you simple texts and phones sustain me through periods of frustration and loneliness. You are all as dictionary.com defines the term angel, or " a person who performs a mission of God or acts as if sent by God." It is certainly true what the scriptures say, "when ye are the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God." Truly, I extend my gratitude to all who take the time to be an "angel" in the life of another. You are the answer to prayer, and your kindness will be remembered by others long after you've forgotten. I pray that all of us will take time to reflect on the many "angels" that have come into our lives. Let us honor their memories by being "angels" ourselves for those who need us. Let us by each simple act of kindness fill the world with Godly love and in doing so make it a better place to be.
I wish you all a wonderful day!
